Problem :

Lapin Cherry, a family-owned café in Prague, didn’t have a proper website to showcase its atmosphere, menu, and story. Relying only on social media limited its visibility and made it difficult for new customers to discover the café. Another key challenge was the lack of a reservation system — guests couldn’t book tables or arrange celebrations in advance, which often caused missed opportunities for larger gatherings.

Solution :

I redesigned the café’s first website to give it a welcoming online presence and align its digital identity with its warm, cozy character. The design highlights the café’s personality while providing essential information such as the menu, contact details, and location. A reservation system was also integrated, allowing customers to seamlessly book tables or events, making the experience more convenient for both visitors and the café staff.

Challenge :

This was my very first web development project, so every step came with a learning curve. I had to quickly familiarize myself with WordPress and adapt my design skills to a development context. Creating a fully functional reservation system added complexity, as it required both technical setup and UX thinking to ensure smooth usability. Balancing design, functionality, and technical learning at the same time turned the project into a true test of adaptability and persistence.

Summary :

The Lapin Cherry website became more than just an online presence — it provided the café with a tool to attract new visitors, simplify reservations, and create a stronger connection with its community. For me, it was a milestone: taking a project from concept to launch, expanding beyond design into development, and building confidence to explore even more ambitious projects in the future.
