Problem : Finding Authentic Experiences is Difficult

In today’s world, discovering new places often means visiting the same highly-rated spots that everyone else already knows about. Tourists and locals rely on travel guides, review platforms, and social media recommendations, which leads to overcrowded locations and a repetitive experience.

Many unique places—small family-run cafés, hidden courtyards, quiet rooftop viewpoints, or lesser-known cultural sites—go unnoticed simply because they don’t have the visibility or marketing that big attractions do. People want to explore something different, but they don’t always know where to look.

Solution : A Community-Driven Map for Unique Places

This app helps users discover lesser-known spots that aren’t part of mainstream recommendations. Instead of promoting the most popular places, it focuses on hidden, underrated, and locally recommended locations. Users can not only explore these places but also contribute their own discoveries, making the experience more dynamic and personal.

Challenge :

The main challenge was designing an experience that feels intuitive yet adventurous. The app needed to balance simplicity with discovery—making hidden places easy to find without overwhelming users with too much information. Another challenge was ensuring trust and credibility, since the platform highlights lesser-known spots that may not have thousands of reviews like mainstream attractions.

Summary :

"Urban Quest" reimagines how people explore cities by shifting the focus from crowded tourist destinations to hidden gems. By combining local knowledge with user contributions, the app creates a more authentic, personal, and rewarding way to discover new places. It empowers users to step off the beaten path and turn exploration into a unique adventure.
